COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts to the rise of authoritarianism and climate collapse. In this challenging landscape, women, gender-diverse groups, and Indigenous peoples are leading the way. They are not only organizing and driving political change but also defending their lands and communities with bold strategies that care for people and the planet \u2013 protecting land, oceans, biodiversity, and natural resources.<\/p><p>Advancing gender justice and equality is essential for increasing the agency and power of women and gender-diverse groups as they create and implement climate and environmental justice strategies, alternatives, and solutions at both local and global levels.<\/p><p><strong>Yet, these efforts remain severely underfunded<\/strong>.<\/p><p>From the Human Rights Funding in 2019,\u00a0<strong>only<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>1.2%\u00a0<\/strong>($50.2M USD) of the $4.1B USD\u00a0<strong>and just 5%<\/strong>\u00a0(1,339) of nearly 27,000 grants,\u00a0considered gender, climate, and environment.
