Astraea was founded in New York City in the United States in 1977 and works at the local, national and global levels. Astraea established its International Fund in 1996, the first institutional fund in the U.S. devoted to supporting LGBTI organizations worldwide. Since its inception, Astraea has invested in innovative LGBTI-led human rights and social change organizations and projects in more than 90 countries across Africa, the Americas, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, making over 4,300 grants to more than 1,700 groups and individuals.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

AYNI – the Indigenous Women\u2019s Fund- was launched in 2008 and works globally, with an administrative office located in Lima, Peru. AYNI is a Kichua\/Quechua word that synthesizes reciprocity, solidarity, equity, and collaboration both between humans and other beings of the cosmos (animals, plants, stars, ancestors, etc.).<\/p>

AYNI is the economic and philanthropic arm of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum -FIMI- that promotes accountability and provides opportunities to promote social justice. AYNI serves as a facilitator instrument of resources (material, human, and financial) for indigenous women. The Fund accompanies the processes defined by the organizations themselves and articulates them with the global movement of indigenous women.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Filia, the German women\u2019s fund, was founded in 2001 with a growing community of partners in mind who invest capital and realise projects that enable women to gain power and influence, in both Europe and internationally. filia gives grants specifically to women and girls as experts of their own situation, who are experiencing multiple forms of discrimination. filia means \u201cdaughter\u201d. The foundation created Germany\u2019s first Girls Advisory Board where young women decide on grants for girls\u2019 projects nationwide. filia sees money as a tool for social change.
