The past months have shaken us all and the world in many ways. While COVID-19 continues to exacerbate social injustices and weaken democracies, the historic movements of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) are strongly igniting for drastic systematic changes against racism, white supremacy and other racial supremacies, imperialism and colonialism across the world. These are demands for systematic changes, challenging everyone to examine our own privileges and power both on a personal level and in the ways we relate to others. As a global network, we are both inspired and challenged to examine our practices and power dynamics within our organizations, within our network, and within philanthropy. Through the process of developing a statement, we have heard and received deep insights, reflections, questions, positions, and challenges that begin a process towards becoming an anti-racist and intersectional feminist network.
